Designed to be the one board quiver for a trip around the world, The Journey Mid Length can be ridden in basically any conditions and still perform. From knee high backyard surf to overhead reef pass barrels, The Journey can and will adapt to the flow of the wave, the conditions, and the surfers ability. Short enough to make later drops, wrap flowy to snappy turns but long enough to glide with the wave, draw long smooth lines and stay that stable cruise section maker.
With the wide point and main volume thickness moved up to the front third of the board, The Journey can flow effortlessly though any section, gain speed on speedy waves and paddle fast like a longboard while still hiding its length fitting into tighter sections and turning like a smaller board. The flatter bottom and deck with mid sized 50/50 rails through the center keeps the board super stable and the pulled in tail sill goes on rail when you want it too. Towards the nose rolls some concave out to the rails but has a very gradual transition from the center of the board coming into a flat center to a slight V off of the tail.
Still a great board for beginners to advanced surfers, can easily be made as a single fin or a 2+1
Recommended fin: 8” Flex Fin
The Nirvana Noserider embodies my version of the modern classic. A full bodied longboard, holding its width throughout the middle and wrapping tightly at the nose to smoothly complete the template. A purposeful mid range amount of rocker through the front holds your noseride right in the pocket, keeping lift in the flats and buoyancy when the nose drops down tight in the pocket. A quick soul arch, backbend or stretch five will lift the nose when you find yourself in those critical sections. The pulled up rails around the lip of the nose creates a flat stable deck, slightly accentuated but gradual concave through the bottom completes the front fourth of the Nirvana.
The mid section remains flat for the most trim speed as possible with a mid sized 50/50 rail keeping the Nirvana stable while still staying connected to the face in the pocket.
The thinned out tail has a nice kick through the last 6 inches and all of the rails in the back end are pulled up for a looser turn when over the fin and more suction when your on the nose. The intentionally flat deck of the tail with the added kick and lip at the end acts like an airplane wing, lifting the nose when the tail sits deep in the pocket. A full teeter totter effect occurs when you’re on the nose, the wide flat tail gets pressed down in the breaking white water, in turn letting the nose float for that blissful tip time lift.
A great board for beginners to experts. Shaped to be stable, fast and cruzie in those clean longboard conditions. Everyone can hop on the Nirvana and have great time, the board allows the rider to effortlessly perform. My standard go to especially in knee to waist high peelers.
The Joyride definitely lives up to its name, an all around fun longboard. A bit more pulled in then the Nirvana Noserider the Joyride with its curvier overall outline flows fluidly in any part of the wave and avoids any tracking feeling gliding in and out of turns. The more pulled in outline allows you to sit deeper in the pocket and fly around or through sections. The blended 50/50 rails throughout the board make for easy and stable transitions between turns, setting up, cross stepping and nose riding.
A nice kick in the tail loosens up the rail to rail transitions and the flat area around the fin keeps it from getting squirrely. If you're looking for good continuous flow and a smooth nose rider but still want to turn on a dime without all the volume of a traditional board, this is it.
Thinned out rounded pintail, pulled in nose and wide point in the center ranging from 22 3/4” - 24” for smoothest curve through the middle of the board.
Designed to channel you higher self into the the wave face. This longboard is loose and responsive off the tail yet stable with a lot of lift through the nose. 50/50 rails in the nose and middle with a pulled up, flat bottomed, thinned out tail. Stomping on the tail is recommended on the Yoda Pin for quick wrapping direction changes and full round cuties.
A smooth concave starts in the middle of the board and gradually increases through the pulled in nose to channel the water back while accelerating. Upturned rails through the nose to add suction to the wave face lengthening the time on the tip.
The longboard with the most rocker of all of my models, the Sublime allows the surfer to achieve more technical maneuvers through out the whole surfboard. The extra rocker really holds you in the pocket while nose riding and trimming. The extra kick in the tail, gradually forming from the back two thirds of the board allows for a sweeping smooth cutback, while still having the option to pivot and whip around.
The rails come to a thinned out but boxy 50/50 through the center, turned up at the nose and thinned out but not knifey in the tail. The deck of the tail remains flat with some very sight V through the back.
The Free Range Egg blends modern and traditional outlines of the past and present egg ideals into a free flowing fully functional finess and fast frolicking funboard. With a smooth rounded outline and low entry rocker, this board will perform with speed and grace in all ranges of surf and really turn on when the surf is up.
When ordered as a custom this board can range from 6’ to 8’6” in length, 20.5” to 22” wide and around 2.75” thick.
For a longboarder going down to a mid-length, I usually recommend keeping the width on the higher side and keeping the rails a little more full to keep the volume up to keep the paddling and glide speed that you are used to, with the rounded pintail and typically 2+1 fin set up the Free Range Egg will connect to the face of the wave while holding drive through the turns and arching smooth the tight turns. If you want a little walking room on the board I recommend getting something in the mid 7’ range and if you would like to have more of the shortboard feel to stay in the 6’ range.
For the shortboarder going up to a mid-length I recommend to keep the width, thickness and rail volume down to hold the shortboard feel but using the extra length of the egg and more rounded outline to increase your glide, lengthen and smooth out your turns while still keeping some of the performance aspect you are used to.
It’s a great board loved by many, and I always like to say, “If you want and Egg I’ll cook you up one.”

A thicker 80’s style shortboard. Flatter rocker and a flat bottom for endless speed. Upright keel fins towed in 1/4” to tighten the turning radius of the board. Boxy down rails with hard edges through the tail. The wide hips with pulled in wing allows for more speed and section making, while the narrow swallow because of the wings lets you wrap full cutties without the lag of a standard fish. Thickness in the nose and body give this board great paddling power and the pulled in pointy nose give this board a standard shorty feel of staying high and tight in the pocket. A longboarders step down delight.
The Beta Pintail is a fish outline for the most part of the board until board comes to the wing by the tail then pulls into a pintail. The full outline of the fish allows you to have the quick speed, extra volume and low entry rocker of a fish but with the tight turning and more short board like snaps through the tail.
With the wings being about 11”-12” up from the tail and the front fins directly above the wings gives the board speed and stability with a long straighter side rail to hold your trim line when in the pocket. The standard shape of this board comes with a flat deck and beak nose at the top but can be requested to have more of a pulled up modern standard nose and a slightly more domed deck.
The board also comes in many different fin sizes but is intended to have more of an upright keel fin on the sides and a trailer fin in the center back, a straight standard thruster set up also works beautifully.
All in all a great shortboard/fish combo for your surfing pleasure.
