The Free Range Egg blends modern and traditional outlines of the past and present egg ideals into a free flowing fully functional finess and fast frolicking funboard. With a smooth rounded outline and low entry rocker, this board will perform with speed and grace in all ranges of surf and really turn on when the surf is up.

When ordered as a custom this board can range from 6’ to 8’6” in length, 20.5” to 22” wide and around 2.75” thick.

For a longboarder going down to a mid-length, I usually recommend keeping the width on the higher side and keeping the rails a little more full to keep the volume up to keep the paddling and glide speed that you are used to, with the rounded pintail and typically 2+1 fin set up the Free Range Egg will connect to the face of the wave while holding drive through the turns and arching smooth the tight turns. If you want a little walking room on the board I recommend getting something in the mid 7’ range and if you would like to have more of the shortboard feel to stay in the 6’ range.

For the shortboarder going up to a mid-length I recommend to keep the width, thickness and rail volume down to hold the shortboard feel but using the extra length of the egg and more rounded outline to increase your glide, lengthen and smooth out your turns while still keeping some of the performance aspect you are used to.
